"Sending My Love" by David Kracov is a whimsical and heartfelt free-standing sculpture that creatively captures the joy and excitement of sharing love. This work features a representation of a large FedEx box, a familiar symbol of distant connections and eagerly awaited parcels. Bursting from this box are numerous hearts, each adorned with its own unique and playful graphic design. These hearts, seemingly in mid-flight, symbolize the transmission of affection and care, transcending physical distances. Kracov's use of the FedEx box as a vessel for these vibrantly designed hearts playfully merges the everyday with the extraordinary, turning a mundane object into a carrier of emotional depth and connection. "Sending My Love" is a delightful reminder of the power of love to connect us, regardless of the miles that may separate us, and the joy found in both giving and receiving tokens of affection.
Born in Boston, David Kracov studied at the Rhode Island School of Design and began his career in animation with the Brad Pitt feature, ‘Cool World.’ David went on to work with Disney Animation, Don Bluth Animation, Rich Animation, as well as several other studios, before beginning his solo work as a sculptor and painter. Kracov’s vibrant color palette shows up in his unique steel wall sculptures that begin with hundreds of small sketches. David’s meticulous steel work along with his scrutinizing attention to detail allows his sculptures to take on a life of their own, and his famous butterflies take flight. David’s playful and creative works are each a testament to his steady hand and wonderfully unique artistic ideas. His work brings joy and humor to pop art.
