Tributes to Picasso

An enormous influence on 20th-century art, Pablo Picasso was an innovative artist, painter, sculptor, printmaker, ceramicist, and stage designer. He was born on October 25th, 1881, in Málaga, with a distinct eye for artistic creation. With Piccaso's birthday this week, Eden Gallery pays a tribute to the exquisite artist and the extraordinary impact he continues to have as one of the most renowned artists of the past and present.

Entirely and utterly unafraid of experimentation, Picasso explored almost every artistic medium known to man. Although he was born in Spain, the exquisite artist spent most of his adult life working as an artist in France and created more than 20,000 paintings, drawings, sculptures, ceramics, and other items. Picasso was constantly innovating and inspiring others to do the same. The artist's accomplishments have significantly impacted not only history itself but also the world we live in today.

Through the long-lasting legacy that Picasso left behind, his work is deeply intertwined with the present day through many different avenues and mediums. Picasso's legacy is prevalent among modern artists who strive to echo his work with their flair. The acclaimed artist's talent can be seen in the creation of Eden Gallery artist Dorit Levinstein within her universe of forms, figures, and colors. Levinstein includes an abstract approach and intricate attention to detail within each of her unique and vibrant, free-standing sculptures. Levinstein's biggest inspiration, Picasso, has encouraged her to uncover her inner child and step into a world of imagination while creating each twirling figure.

The 20th-century artist's approach to the abstract is something Levinstein admires and incorporates within her artwork. Picasso and Levinstien include non-conventional forms of representation without abandoning the real. The Eden Gallery artist's work is categorized into three main periods: the "classical" bronze period, stone and mixed media, and the art of colorful linear figures. All three mediums explore the relationship between the self and the surrounding world.

Establishing a sincere connection with his audience through constantly exploring a metaphysical world, Yoel Benharrouche elevates his diverse collections of artwork by incorporating abstract figures and bold colors within his work. Similarly to Picasso, Benharrouche's ever-involving painting consistently evokes a passion for life and imagination while capturing Picasso's flexibility and movement through art and life.

Any medium or format did not constrain Picasso's passion for creating art. His accomplishments revolutionized the 20th-century art world and our world today. Picasso's legacy continues to be admired by the artists of today. To explore more artworks inspired by Pablo Picasso, check out the Eden Gallery website or visit a gallery near you.
